It was quite charming The kids and I thought this looks like a Dr. It looks so different next to the pines and other trees that are common in New England that it stuck out to me-so pretty! the Woodland trail has a Story book walk-“Over In the Meadow.” It was great! It had animals and counting with rhyming in the book. How spectacular would that be? Intricate decor at the Court Garden This is a Ashe Magnolia Leave in the Woodland Trail. If you like this plant wall try having a living succulent wall like this. My husband loved this plant wall, maybe we will have one someday at our house? We saw a frog in the fountain enjoying himself and why not with a home like this? The Orangerie Garden, check out this spectacular vine growing on the high ceiling! The Orangerie Garden has this amazing plant (monstera Deliciosa split leaf philodendron) with huge topical looking leaves and look what we found on it! The Court with a water feature and fairy house on a Lilly pad! part of the Court. this is the Winter Garden, they keep the temperature above freezing so the fountain can function all winter long! This is the Systematic Garden in the Systematic Garden, this small Lilly pad pond had tadpoles in it the kids were mesmerized! These Eastern Box Turtles are so pretty. I’m hoping when you visit it is open again. The cafe has good reviews and I was looking forward to eating there but I’ll have to return to check it out. Sadly, due to COVID the cafe, The Farmer and Fork, was not opened in June of 2020 so we left because we were hungry. My kids each picked out honey lollipops and were so excited to eat them because “real bees made them.” There were several items made locally so that was also a plus to know that each purchase supports local businesses. The gift shop at New England Botanic Garden is beautiful and has so many specialty trinkets for checking out. New England Botanic Garden’s gift shop & more : The others were just beautiful flowing water fountains which made for a relaxing ambiance. One was a mister offering an area to cool off from the hot summer day. They had 3+ fountains on the grounds that were so beautiful. The water features were probably one of my favorite things. They are very perceptive so I’m not sure why this impressed me? Maybe because I remember not being that way as a young child. The kids liked to point out the plants that we have at home in our yard. Some even looked like they were straight out of a Dr Seuss book! They had black tomatoes and peppers! The leaves on the Magnolia trees were huge. Some of the plants were so interesting to look at and a first time for us seeing them. There is a vegetable garden, a forest area with a trail and story book walk, a secret garden equipped with pergolas and water fountains, a marsh area, a courtyard and so much more. If you appreciate nature and the hard work it takes to plant and maintain all these flowers, you will be blown away like we were. ![]() I adored every inch of New England Botanic Gardens though. There are wooden fairy houses positioned throughout so my daughter got a kick out of that but, was sad that no fairies were actually home.□. New England Botanic Gardens is amazing!
